Rev. Lonnie Jacobsen has been called by the Board of Directors of the Nebraska District to serve as Executive Assistant to the District President for Mission and Ministry. He will be installed on Sunday, June 5, during the 10:30 a.m. service at Calvary Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE.

In this position, Rev. Jacobsen will help pastors assess and encourage personal and congregational health; help congregations, schools, and ministries express their Christian concern, love, and compassion through works of mercy and gospel witness; assist ministries to collaborate their work in God’s kingdom; and provide accountability and oversight for District-owned ministries and grant recipients to carry out the mission opportunities our Lord puts before us.

God has uniquely guided Pastor Jacobsen in his ministry over the years: first, as a church planter in Memphis, TN; then helping revitalize Calvary Lutheran, Lincoln; and most recently in assisting Atonement, Bethany, and St. Paul, Omaha to close and merge as one congregation for stronger ministry and outreach in their community.

We pray God’s continued grace upon Lonnie’s service. A rite acknowledging his call and installation will be held at the opening worship service of the district convention.
