Plan now for 2022 outreach events

As you think ahead to your ministries and events planned for 2022, including Easter events, family fun days, Vacation Bible School, etc., consider how a mailing targeted to specific demographics could help you connect with your community. Nebraska District congregations can make use of the Synod’s free Easter Media Kits when creating a mailing using one of these targeted demographics.

The Nebraska District, in partnership with Leading Edge Mission Solutions, is able to provide congregations with free, local mailing lists based on a number of criteria. Email missions@ndlcms.org to request a mailing list for the following household categories: children ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-10, 11-13, or 14-17; new movers (6 or 12 months); ethnicity; language spoken; and head of household age or marital status.

All requests must include at least one criteria listed above and area to be included in the search, such as zip code(s) or radius from a specific address. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing. Email missions@ndlcms.org with questions or for more information. Your congregation doesn’t need to wait for Lent or Advent to get our help with this mission mapping service. At any time, you can choose a demographic you’d like to target or map visitors to learn if they live near your members. Learn who lives around you so you know how to better serve them, or contact them directly to let them know of a ministry opportunity just for them.

In addition to the kits available through the links below, Nebraska District communications has made a set of images for daily social media posts so congregations, schools, and individuals can post Scriptures each day during the entire season of Lent, continuing through Easter Monday. Click here to access those files. Call Kim Myers at 888-643-2961, extension 1009 for assistance.

The free media kits include:

  • Newspaper columns about the significance of Holy Week and Easter, signed by LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, which can be submitted to the local newspaper.
  • How-to guides explaining the media kit resources and how to best use them.
  • Newspaper ads for Holy Week and Easter to which the local parish may add its address, contact information and worship
    times.
  • Images advertising Holy Week and Easter services ready-made for use in a Facebook ad.
  • Shareable social media graphics for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (one for each week of Lent and one for Holy Week).
  • Reproducible postcards that can be used to invite people to Holy Week and Easter services.

All of these are available for free download here on the Synod website.
