The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod thanks God for the faithful church workers who serve in congregations and schools across our Synod.

The Nebraska District encourages all congregations to use the bulletin insert LINKED HERE at least once during October, and all members to thank church workers and their families for all of the ways they serve.
CLICK HERE to download a letter from Synod about church worker appreciation. A highlight of this letter is the following, which we encourage you to share in your bulletins and newsletters: Our LCMS church workers — pastors, deaconesses, teachers, and directors of Christian education, outreach, parish music, and family life ministry — work tirelessly on behalf of the church in service to all of us. Let’s be sure to show our gratitude — no gesture is too small!
Join us on the following dates in 2025 and 2026 as we let our church workers know, in word and in deed, how very thankful we are for their service and dedication: Oct. 12 (Pastor Appreciation), Oct. 25 (Deaconess, Director of Family Life Ministry, Director of Christian Outreach, and Director of Church Ministries), April 26 (Director of Parish Music), May 4–8 (Teacher Appreciation) and June 26 (Director of Christian Education).
We’ll also express thanks for our lay leaders and those who support our church workers, so here are a few additional dates to note for 2025–2026: Month of April (all Church Volunteers), March 6 (Lay Workers) and June 13 (Church Worker Spouses).
