Call Process & Documents

Notify the District Office

Please note that the District needs to be notified:

  • every time a call is issued by a congregation, school, RSO, etc.
  • when a rostered worker receives a call
  • and when a worker accepts or declines a call

Calls for Ordained Ministers

To receive assistance with the call process and call documents for ordained ministers, including the Pastor Information Form (PIF) and Self-Evaluation Tool (SET), contact Kim Hofer in the District President’s office via email at [email protected] or call 402-643-2961, extension 1014. Ordained workers can also request their current on-file PIF and get information on how to update their SET.

What to do when a pastor receives a call?

Supply, Guest, and Vacancy Pastors

From time to time, congregations need a pastor able to fill their pulpit while their own pastor is away. Information about supply pastors (guest pastors / supply list) is available by contacting Kim Hofer in the District President’s office at 402-643-2961, extension 1014, or by email at [email protected].

Information on compensation for vacancy and supply (guest) pastors can be found in the Compensation and Benefits Guidelines document available on our CONGREGATIONAL RESOURCES page. Please refer to the sections “Vacancy Pastor Compensation” and “Guest Pastor Fees” which are listed in the Guideline’s table of contents.

Calls for Commissioned Ministers (teacher, deaconess, director of parish music, DCE, etc.)

To receive assistance with the call process and call documents for commissioned ministers, contact Candi Menze in the Education and Youth office via email at [email protected] or call 402-643-2961, extension 1010.

Compensation and Benefits Guidelines for Church Workers

To better understand compensation for your church workers, review the Compensation and Benefits Guidelines documents. These Compensation and Benefits Guidelines can be used by congregations as a guide for suggested salaries, reimbursements, and benefits for professional church workers. These guidelines are minimum suggested compensation levels. You are encouraged to go above the suggested amounts when it is appropriate. The guidelines are updated each year and are available on our CONGREGATIONAL RESOURCES page.

Please note that the District needs to be notified:
• every time a call is issued by a congregation, school, RSO, etc.
• when a rostered worker receives a call
• and when a worker accepts or declines a call

Employee Benefits

Please remember employee benefits are a critical part of compensation when calling an ordained or commissioned worker. A review of benefit offerings to make sure they are current is recommended. Contact Concordia Plan Services to review your benefits package and confirm your offerings are up to date.
