Who should attend the Congregational Treasurers Workshop? New and returning treasurers, bookkeepers, financial secretaries, office managers, stewardship leaders, pastors, church members and/or staff who have financial or administrative responsibilities.
Why attend? Practical help! This workshop provides simple, straightforward help relating to clergy tax and church treasurer issues. Receive instruction and resources to help you serve your
congregation and avoid costly mistakes. Make connections! Connect to the presenters, District Business Managers Elijah Lubbe
(Nebraska) and Heather Williams (Kansas). Hear from the Lutheran Church Extension Fund, Concordia Plan Services, and meet fellow servants from your church region.
Free lunch! Lunch will be sponsored by the Lutheran Church Extension Fund.
At the workshop, we will review the Congregational Treasurers Manual, learn about borrowing opportunities and investment options through LCEF, hear about the your district and your church dollars at work, and discuss topics including narrative budgets, salary guidelines, board governance, internal control, planned giving, clergy taxes, document retention, employer resources, and employees vs. contractors. We’ll take time to answer your most frequent and challenging questions!
