Following is information for our Fall Pastors’ Conference in Grand Island. Feel free to contact Kim Hofer at the District Office (402-643-2961, ext. 1014, or kimh@ndlcms.org) with any questions you might have.

Date and Location: The conference will be Monday and Tuesday, October 6-7, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1710 N. North Road, Grand Island, phone 308-384-5673.

Topic: “Paul’s Pastoral Theology for the Thessalonians Concerning Christ’s Coming”

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Charles Gieschen, Provost of Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne. Please note that Dr. Gieschen encourages pastors to bring their English Bible as well as their Greek NT for reference (rather than trying to put all of these on a screen).

Pre-Conference Workshop: Once again there is an opportunity to sign up for a “pre-conference workshop” on Sunday, October 5. The topic for the workshop, facilitated by Rev. Dr. Justin Hannemann, is “Dopamine, Addiction, & The Gospel.” See this flyer for additional information.

Worship: The worship service will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon at Peace Lutheran Church, Grand Island. The offering will be designated for church worker care here in the Nebraska District.

Fellowship: Fellowship time, hosted by the District staff, will begin Monday evening at 8:00 at Grand Island Lutheran High School, 3900 W. Husker Highway.

Registration Information: Below the agenda, registration form, lodging information, and presenter bio. Please print and return the registration form and full payment or register online by Monday, September 22. The current Handbook of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod states, “All ordained and commissioned ministers on the district rosters are expected to attend meetings of their official conference or present a valid excuse.” Bylaw 4.8.2.(d)

The Nebraska District is again offering online registration through its own electronic payment provider.

1. Register on our secure online registration and payment site by filling in your personal information, selecting the appropriate conference fees, and filling in your credit card information. Only one payment per credit card is allowed each day.

One person should then use the Group Credit Card Payment Form to pay by credit card for the total group amount.
3. No registration will be valid until payment is received.
